Ishant Sharma plays in his 100th test match

Ishant Sharma hits his very first six in International Cricket.

Ben Stokes becomes the batsman most dismissed by Ashwin (11 times)

So many superlatives in this test match which lasted only for two days.

Michael Vaughan sarcastically tweets that there should be three innings for these kind of pitches.

Yuvraj singh too expressed his concern that Anil Kumble would have scalped 1000 wickets if he were to bowl in such pitches.

Whatsoever , Test cricket continues to be very exciting these days particularly after the “Lagaan” style victory of India over Australia in the last India-Australia test series.

Most of the wickets which fell in this test match were due to the straight ball that did not turn though the bowler had obviously spun it. It’s a mystery how this is happening on this pitch . If this could be solved ,probably this pitch will be a bit better for the batsman.

After India bowled out England for 112 in the first innings it looked like an easy victory wrap for India. But then they got bowled out for 145 with Joe Root taking 5 wickets in just 6 overs and he did not concede a single run while getting his first three wickets! Probably the most surprising moment of his career. It looked like England might bounce back strongly with the batting too. And then Axar Patel takes a wicket in the very first delivery of England’s innings and almost took one in the next delivery and then made sure he got the missed wicket in the third ball. That set England on the backfoot and Axar and Ashwin rattled them all for a mean total of 81 , England’s lowest test score vs India.

India has now bounced back quite strongly after the first test defeat and eyeing for a seat in the World Test Championship final.

England is probably going to add a spinner in their team for the last test match .

Will the straight ball continue to disrespect in the last test match too?

Curious and waiting.
